TOLIMAN

The Telescope for Orbital Locus Interferometric Monitoring of our Astronomical Neighbourhood (TOLIMAN) project seeks to perform an exhaustive search for all exoplanets to below one Earth mass in temperate-zone orbits around either star in the Alpha Centauri AB system. It aims to do so by way of an extremely stable space telescope capable of registering the tiny astrometric deflections from gravitational reflex motion imposed on the host star.

The data analytics (a very major component of the program), the primary aspects of design of the mission payload – the optical and opto-mechanical specification of the telescope itself, together with the mission-critical diffractive pupil that is the core enabling technology – are all deliverables from Astralis-USyd.
