Gemini South Adaptive Optics Imager

The Gemini South Adaptive Optics Imager features 4 Hawaii-2RG arrays, totalling over 4000×4000 pixels to cover the giant corrected field of view from GeMS (the Gemini MCAO), as well as up to 4 on-detector guide windows for image motion compensation. GSAOI covers the near infrared bands from 1.0 to 2.5 microns. It was commissioned in 2010/2011.
