Infrared Integral Field Spectrograph for GEMINI North

Completed: 2006

The Near-Infrared Integral Field Spectrograph was commissioned in 2005/2006. NIFS was designed to go behind Altair, the AO system for Gemini North. One of the first instruments of its kind, NIFS has been, and continues to be, very productive. It has been used in surveys and many PI programs.
